Class Action Lawsuits


When a large group of together lodge claims against one person, it is known as Class action lawsuits.  It is also known as representative action or class suit. Class action lawsuits are always collective in nature.  Class action lawsuits are originated in the United States and are still predominantly a U.S. phenomenon.
Class Action Lawsuits are governed by state court and federal rules. If a group to claim a Class action lawsuit, the appropriate legal forum must certify the class for the lawsuit to be heard. If we take example of tobacco industry, we saw there are a large number of Class action lawsuits against this industry.
